To help children participate more fully in the Mass, the Liturgy of the Word with Children is offered during the 8:30AM Mass on Sundays and during the 5:00 Mass on Saturdays. Children in grades Kinder thru 5th are invited to participate.
After the opening prayer at Mass, a team of volunteers bring the children into the chapel for their own Liturgy of the Word. The Scriptures are read from an approved text especially for children. The Psalm and Gospel Acclamation are sung. The Gospel reflection and discussion helps them to understand what God is saying and how to live the message. The children profess their faith and offer prayers from their hearts. The children then return to their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
More team members are needed. Resource materials and supplies are provided. Any adult or teenager with a love of Scripture and a love of children is invited to join.
