Open Hearts is designed to help integrate a person with developmental or intellectual disabilities into the life of the parish. This ministry provides a faith filled and loving environment for children, adults and their families. The environment offers opportunities to be in community through monthly gatherings. We provide a path of friendship and community with the person with a disability and their families. As this ministry grows we will continue to open doors that allow for full participation at St. Catherine's for all.

Community of Faith and Light–Open Hearts ministry meets on the third Sunday of the month from 1:30-3:30pm. This monthly gathering is a time geared toward fellowship and spiritual enrichment for the person with a disability (core member) and their entire family. We meet for fellowship, sharing, festivities, and prayer. Members of the St. Catherine's community are there as friends to simply be a part of the community as a participant like the core member and their family. We are growing and can provide appropriate activities for all ages.

Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation – We have adaptive learning resources available for families that may be used in conjunction with a religious education class, or on a one on one basis. Whatever you are most comfortable with. No member of the church will be kept from receiving the sacraments. We belive that all people are part of the body of Christ, and work to achieve full participation in the sacraments for all members of the Catholic faith.
We always are looking for volunteers to be
friends of Open Hearts.
WE ARE IN NEED OF RE BUDDIES for children that are in the clasrooms that may have a disability.
