St. Catherine's Got Talent is looking for entertainers to perform at the October Knights of Columbus Fall Banquet. All are invited to audition next Saturday, September 21, at 10 a.m. in the Parish Center. We are looking for musicians, singers, dancers, skits, actors, comedians, or magicians. We are looking for people to serve as catechists, teachers of the faith, in our children’s Faith Formation Program. We need adults who have a love for learning, a love for sharing their faith, and a love for children. Classes are held on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. We also need one or two special adults to help teach a Tuesday evening Confirmation Class for high school students that lasts eight weeks. St. Catherine of Siena Religious Education classes for the 2024-25 school year are now open for registration. Weekly classes for students in grades 1 - 6 begin on Tuesday, September 10. There is also an option for grades 1 - 6 to study at home. The Ignite Middle School, Ablaze High School, and Confirmation classes begin on Sunday, September 8. The Ladies Afternoon Tea that was scheduled for August 9 has been canceled and will be rescheduled for the Fall. The new date will be posted on the website and published in the bulletin.

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church is seeking a skilled keyboard artist to accompany one of our choirs in partnership with its director, cantors and psalmists. The group rehearses on Tuesday evenings and offers music at Mass in the late morning on Sundays. The ideal candidate will be versatile, able to play the many styles of the Church’s music fluently and artfully from printed scores in multiple formats. The Knights of Columbus Council 8156 4th Annual Siena Car Show has been postponed to the published rain date of August 4. The car show will benefit the Autism Society of Texas and Knights of Columbus Local Charities at Buck’s Backyard at 1750 South FM 1626 In Buda, Texas. This weekend, please welcome Fr. Robert Ippolito from the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette. He will speak at all Masses about the La Salette Missionaries serving God’s poor people in the missions of Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Haiti, India, Madagascar, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Tanzania, and the Philippines. Due to the parking lot renovation, we will have the Anointing of the Sick on the Wednesday, July 3, instead of the first Friday. We will have noon Mass on Friday, July 5, but parking will be extremely limited.

On Sunday, July 28, the Church celebrates the Fourth World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. In 2021, Pope Francis established the celebration on the fourth Sunday of July, near the liturgical memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, grandparents of Jesus. A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our Summer Challenge Diaper Drive! Due to your generosity, our Parish collected over 4,000 much needed diapers and wipes that were delivered to the Austin Diaper Bank during the week of Summer Challenge.

The next parish blood drive, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 8156, will be held on Saturday, June 22, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the West parking lot. Please eat prior to donation and bring a photo I.D.

St. Catherine’s Preschool needs volunteers to lead Catechesis of the Good Shepherd this coming fall. We are looking for individuals interested in volunteering for a few hours one morning a week during the school year. While the priests are at the Diocese of Austin Priest Spring Convocation, the following schedule will be in place: On Tuesday, May 28, we will not have Mass or Reconciliation. We will have a Eucharistic Service at Noon. On Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30, we will have a Eucharistic Service at Noon.

An Eucharistic Procession from the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt to St. John Neumann Parish in Westlake. The day begins with Mass at the Shrine at 8:00 a.m., followed by a Eucharistic Procession to St. John Neumann.

Our capital campaign, which completed last June, raised $3,200,000. Of this amount we will be given $1,600,000 to use for Church remodeling and repairs. To date we have completed the remodel of the Sacristy corridor and the main bathrooms. The refurbishment of the Church pews is ongoing. Click here to read the full update from Fr. Pat and Sue.
