In an Apostolic Letter given on September 30, 2019, Pope Francis established the Third Sunday in Ordinary time as “Sunday of the Word of God” and designated it as a day of celebration, study and honor of the sacred Scriptures. St. Catherine celebrates and recognizes the role of God’s Word in our worship, and we offer our gratitude to our lectors who serve God through the proclamation of His Word.
